French people ignored officials' warnings to isolate themselves because of the covid-19. Now they need a form to leave the house.

As a part of its accelerated fight against the coronavirus outbreak, France is requiring people to supply a form justifying why they're outside.

Starting at midday on Tuesday, France are going to be locked down for 15 days. During the lockdown, people are going to be ready to leave their houses as long as necessary and must fill out a form that provides their reason for being outside.

The French government said that some 100,000 cops would be deployed to enforce the measure which people might be fined up to €135 ($150) for violating it.

The extreme rule came as people continued to collect after France closed places like bars and occasional shops and told residents to remain inside.

France's ramped-up coronavirus measures now require people to supply a document that justifies why they're outside — even just to travel a walk or to the shop — after people ignored the government's pleas to remain reception .

French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday announced a 15-day lockdown starting at midday on Tuesday, saying people's journeys outside would be "greatly reduced."

He said people should leave their homes as long as it's necessary — for instance , to travel to figure , to urge medical aid , to shop for groceries in authorized shops, or to exercise alone.

But so as to try to to any of these things, people in France must download and fill out a form for each trip they need to form . The police can check the forms and issue fines of €38 to €135 ($40 to $150) to people that do not have one.

Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said on Monday that 100,000 cops would be deployed to enforce the rule, consistent with Reuters.

Macron also announced restrictions on travel between France and other European Union countries for 30 days.

France has also closed most cafes, restaurants, cinemas, nightclubs, and shops.

France has quite 6,600 coronavirus cases and a minimum of 148 deaths, consistent with a tally by researchers at Johns Hopkins University.

The virus has infected quite 180,000 people and killed quite 7,000 people, prompting governments round the world to launch extreme measures and shut their borders.

France has followed the pattern of the many countries: the govt first urged people to remain home but turned to increasingly strict measures when its warnings were ignored or not widely followed.

Hervé Berville, a French lawmaker and ally of Macron's, told The ny Times that he was frustrated that a lot of people were still crowding in shops and parks on Sunday.

"There was something shocking about it," he told the days on Monday.

"The French aren't respecting the safety warnings," he added. "People aren't following social distancing."

He said it had been "shocking'' that folks ignored "the advice coming from the very best levels of state .''

In announcing the closure of companies like shops and cinemas over the weekend, French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe said: "We have seen too many of us in cafes and restaurants. In usual times, this is able to make me happy, because this is often the France we all love. except for a couple of weeks, this is often not what we should always be doing."

Reuters reported on Monday that folks were gathering outside coffee shops albeit the shops were offering only takeaway during a bid to prevent people from forming groups or getting too close.

"Just getting a takeaway, they gather outside, chat, smoke a cigarette, drink their coffee," Frederic Monnier, the owner of Le Cafe Tabac in Paris, told Reuters. "So they are not respecting the principles ."

France's adoption of stricter measures has brought its response closer in line with Spain's and Italy's.

Italy, which has been ravaged by the virus, has banned public gatherings, blocked all nonessential travel, and told people to remain reception . The country's system is analogous to France's: People going outside in Italy also got to produce a form.

The Spanish government declared a state of emergency on Saturday, placing the country in lockdown. It said people should leave their homes as long as they have to shop for food or medicine or attend work or the hospital.
